Revisiting My Grandma's Quilt - Block 7
Hungarian stitch is another of my favorite stitches. It was fun testing out all of the different threads in this block.
I am working mostly with the Caron lines - Wildflowers, Waterlilies and Watercolours.
I find that the colour changes in the threads are longer than the Gloriana so you get more solid blocks of colour when stitched. Also Gloriana colour variations are much more subtle between colour changes.

I have stitched this block with: threads:
Caron Wildflowers - this thread does not give quite enough coverage on the 18 count.
Caron Watercolours - very good coverage
Gloriana stranded silk - 4 strands
24 count congress cloth
Both 2 strands of stranded silk thread or one strand of Caron Wildflowers look great on the 24 count. Either thread works well on the 24 count.
