Revisiting My Grandma's Quilt - Block 6
Of all of the stitches used so far, block 6 has had more versatility with different threads. I like almost all of them!
18 count mono canvas
I have stitched this block with three different threads.
1. cotton sampler thread - 3 strands which I like quite a lot.
2. Caron Wildflowers - a little thinner than the perle #8, but very nice! The colour I used is 173 - Redwood.

3. DMC Perle #8 - which is also very nice. The coverage is a little more than the sampler thread and the Wildflowers.
I was very happy with the coverage with the perle 8 weight and did not stitch a sample with perle 5.
24 count congress cloth
Both 2 strands of sampler thread and one strand of Caron Wildflowers look great on the 24 count. There is a little more canvas coverage with the Wildflowers.
Either work well on the 24 count.

I really like the stitch on this block. It’s lacy and I like the way the canvas peeks out.
And for comparison, here is a close up of the original stitched sample of block 6 - 2 strands of floss on 28 count Jobelan.
