2026 Mini-Pillow Stitch Along - Lisa's March mini pillow

2026 Mini-Pillow Stitch Along - Lisa's March mini pillow

The March mini-pillow was inspired by Fancy That which is a wonderful pattern for beginners.  As soon as I saw the design for this pillow, I knew exactly which threads I was going to pull from my "big bucket of threads".

I like the direction of colours for this mini pillow - I found an almost new card of Rainbow Gallery Flair  F581 in my "big bucket of threads" - the periwinkle colour is perfect the center.

Kreinik #8 braid - 021 - copper - one of my very favourite colours.  It loos so very nice with the purple Flair.

You can really tell by my thread choices what my favourite colours are - teals, purples, blues.  All in my comfort zone!  DMC Perle #5 - 4025 was perfect for the wrapped backstitch in this mini pillow.  It just looks so nice!

Back to the Flair and copper metallic for the next few stitches.

This is an interesting angle showing the dimensions that the Flair gives on the surface of the canvas.

And lastly the border with DMC Perle #5 - 797.  It's just a little darker than the Flair and looks great against the other colours in the pillow.

The two periwinkle purples pop with the variegated DMC thread and the bronze adds the perfect splash of sparkle.  I really like the bronze Kreinik 021 braid and I have enough to use it in a future block!

Yours in stitching,

Lisa

PS - I've finished the back stitch around the first three mini pillows and have trimmed the canvas.  They are now ready to assemble!
