2026 Mini Pillow Stitch Along - Lisa's June Pillow

2026 Mini Pillow Stitch Along - Lisa's June Pillow

It’s time to start the June mini pillow and threads have been picked out!

There are some fun threads selected this month, especially two partial skeins of DMC Colour Variations Perle 5 - 4020 and 4025 that I am very excited about using.  I’m going straight to my favourite colours this month!  I hope you are enjoying my musings as I stitch the monthly mini pillows.

Well, I think I am going to love the thread choices picked for this block!

I forgot how much fun pavilion diamonds are to stitch and the perle 5 gives great coverage.

I picked a lovely periwinkle purple - DMC Perle 5 - 341. This colour complements the pavillion diamond center very nicely.

As I was getting ready to add the lattice over the pavilions, I noticed that I went too far with the back stitched row… so there was some frogging and then some restitching! Oops!  It goes without saying that I should have been looking at the charts a little more closely as I was stitching!

The lattice was stitched with Au Ver A Soie Metallise #8 - 2933

The June mini pillow now has corner triangles. I’ve used my very favourite Finca Perle 5 - 3670.  This thread came from a kit from a Lorene Salt class which was taught at the 2018 EAC/ACB Seminar in Newfoundland. It’s the ball that just keeps on giving!!

And now some back stitch with my favourite colour in metallic - Au Ver a Soie Metallics Tresse - 2933

My June mini pillow is complete. Now that I have 6 done, it’s time for assembly.  I have written a tutorial on how to finish the little mini pillows -  Mini Pillow Finishing Tutorial

Did you know that DMC has discontinued a number of the Variations colours? Luckily the colours I used in the June mini pillow are still available. Thank goodness!
